The Think Bottle Blog was created to gather great art, ideas, and inspiration into one place. I hope you get inspired to take a chance and dive into something of your own. Plus it’s a great place to interact with me on a daily basis. Cheers!

I would love to see some posts on you discussing your own artistic design process.
Also would really find it interesting to hear about some stories from your career or past jobs discussed.

hi allen - i have tons of stories from my days as a paramedic - i will be sure to share some of those as well as a little of my artistic process.

I agree with allen from earlier…
I would “love” to see your process from sketch to finish on one of your illustrations for a book, and of course more sketching videos, please. This to me is the most inspiring thing. My favorite so far is the Molly Lou Melon sketch. She’s just fun anyway.
Thanks for the awesome work.

i will try to put something like that together, i’ve always thought it’d be fun to actually video a book from start to finish- but need to actually find a good project to show.
maybe my next max book?...we’ll see

That would be amazing if you did that.

I agree, that would be a wonderful idea!

I recently purchased your new Max Spaniel Book and I noticed that you live in Springfield, OH. I would love to showcase your work and talents at an upcoming early childhood conference at Lake Erie College in Painesville. We would love to have alocal author as a keynote speaker at the conference.
I use some of the books you have illustrated in my classes (early and middle childhood teacher candidates) all the time to teach letter writing concepts (I Wanna Iquana) and We The Kids for the Preamble, as an example. The students enjoy the stories and illustrations.
