The Think Bottle Blog was created to gather great art, ideas, and inspiration into one place. I hope you get inspired to take a chance and dive into something of your own. Plus it’s a great place to interact with me on a daily basis. Cheers!
Sweating the Art

Hello everyone;
Well here it is, the official launch entry of my very own blog and while there isn’t a lot of smoke and ground rattling racket, if you listen carefully you’ll hear the cobwebs and dust falling away from my 20th century eyes as I discover a brand new way of talking and doing.
Traveling all across the country and talking to gobs of students, teachers, librarians and everyone in between, I’ve gotten a general sense of what people wonder when it comes to being an artist.
Sure, I understand not all of us aspire to be artists, some of us want to be Olympic athletes, others want to be brain surgeons or monster truck drivers. The point is we’re all examining our navels in search of what we love to do. Art gets me up in the morning, it’s my passion – I was fortunate to discover it, but I’ll be the first to admit it might put other folks to sleep. What unites us is we each have that one special gift that makes us stand out. I don’t have all the answers, just ask my 7th grade math teacher, Mr Hersh. While the class was learning the foundations of algebra and triggergonotology, or some darn thing, I was drawing a kick butt picture of him yodeling Bavarian show tunes wearing a tutu.
We all can’t be mathematicians nor would we want to be, There’d be nothing on television to watch and our gardens would be filled with square roots. The Port Huron City schools weren’t big supporters of artistic expression, especially during Iowa test week, but i got it done! No, not the test, for heaven’s sake, I failed that. I mean the self discovery thing, I nailed it, and I never looked back, I found my life’s meaning and I was complete. OK, back to all the other beings who don’t want to be artists, but something entirely different.
I hope you come back and visit me again because this blog will never be boring like math class (unless you actually loved math class) in which case, I promise this blog will be as exciting and awe-inspiring as a math class; albeit, one where things occasional don’t add up and the teacher takes the scenic route.
Well, that’s it for now. See ya later.

Love your silly and amazing art! I work at the Stark County District Library in Canton OH. We used your artwork this past summer via the Collaborative Summer Library program. We are currently applying for an award and using our Summer Reading Club as the focus. We did a bio/credit piece on you and your illustrations (using the CSPL info) during the summer. I would love to include another bio of you in the award sumbission with your permission. Do you have a photo I may use as well. You can email me an image and bio if you prefer. Thanks for your time and joy - great site!
